Real questions become tracking prompts and content.
The situation
1 · What a buyer said
“Every quote we send is a bundle of many single parts.”
2 · Who they are
Manufacturer, 40 people. Prices come from supplier lists. No ERP yet.
3 · What they ask the AI
“Which ERP helps a 40-person manufacturer build quotes from many parts?”
Our response
4 · What we build
ContentWritten to answer exactly this question
TrackingThe question goes 1:1 into our prompt tracking
Bonus
DIY: Build a robust prompt tracking yourself.
Set up
01
Prompt set
Real questions with role, company size and problem. Brand and non-brand split.
02
Pre-test
Run each prompt 2 to 3 times per engine. Keep only prompts that return sources.
03
Version
Freeze the set before the first run. Any change means a new version with its own baseline.
04
Baseline
Measure 7 to 14 days before the first report. You can't backfill it.
Measure impact
05
Repeat runs
Several runs per prompt and engine. Read every engine on its own.
06
Three counts
Retrieved, cited and mentioned are three separate numbers.
07
Four signals
CRM, GA4 AI referrals, brand search in Search Console, visibility in your tracking.
08
Impact = delta
Measure change against the baseline. One run proves nothing.

Situation
Our reviews and scores loaded via JavaScript. AI crawlers couldn't read them.
Cause
The crawlers of ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity don't open a browser. They only read the HTML.
Consequence
Our most important content never reached them. Since end of July 2026, 15 reviews sit in the HTML, plus an AI summary of all reviews.
